Tefal Quick Cup - Hot Water In 3 Seconds

The Tefal Quick Cup (or T-Fal for those in North America and Japan) is another shot at improving the kettle by only heating as much water as is actually needed. You simply fill the reservoir with cold tap water and then any time you need hot water for coffee or tea you just push the red button and it will be automatically dispensed. The water is only heated as it travels from the reservoir to the spout and it only takes 3 seconds to bring the temperature to just below the boiling point using Tefal’s patented Opti-Quick system. And if you only need cold water just push the black button and you’ll get clean, filtered water from the spout instead.
Since the Quick Cup only heats the water as it’s being dispensed it dramatically cuts down on wasted energy. In fact Tefal claims the kettle can reduce energy consumption by 65% compared to a standard kettle. Not only is using less energy better for the environment but it’s also great for your monthly energy bill.
The Quick Cup will be released in early July (in Europe at least) and will retail for about $120. While it’s not cheap it’s probably one of those ‘better in the long run’ kind of things.

JET PAKCS

It may or may not surprise you to hear that jet packs (of a sort) are old news. Bell Aerosystems had a personal rocket belt back in the 1960s, and a few different companies are currently offering the same hydrogen peroxide powered sort of thing, including Tecaeromex, from whom you can buy a working version for $250,000. The downside of rocket belts is that they only get a maximum of 30 seconds flight time, and the fuel is expensive and dangerous. Bell Aerospace started working on an actual jet pack in the late 60s, which had a hypothetical flying time of 25 minutes and a top speed of about 80 mph, but dropped the project due to it’s complexity.

LG SV280 the Green Banana Phone

Green Banana is a really strange name for a mobile phone, however LG does not think so. The LG SV280 is a perfect chic phone it has lavender-scented keypad and a curved body designed to hug the contours of your face giving a more comfortable fit when making calls. The slider phone has a metallic finish and sports a 1.3 Megapixel camera, MP3 player and 142 MB of internal memory. There is no memory expansion and lacks a crucial chic feature a display that doubles as a mirror. You cant gift this to your loved one yet unless you stay in Korea. (More images after the jump)

SAT Test

My parents always blame me for being aniPod-addict and are always on my case to surrender my dearest companion. But now I can give it back to them as its not only all-play-and no-work on iPod these days. More than just playing the videos and music, the 5th generation iPod is equipped to help high school students practice for their college entrance exams - SAT test. This can be down by downloading three interactive programs from Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions from iTunes. The three programs, in critical reading, mathematics and writing, correspond to the three graded sections of the exam. The programs cost $4.99 each and are available in the iPod games section of the iTunes store alongside slightly more entertaining, if less educational, options like Tetris, Pac-Man and Lost: The Game. “Learning styles have changed a lot!” that’s what my father’s got to say now.
